Acting for TV/Film in the New Normal
Day 1: Friday, November 11th 6:30pm-9:00pm MST
Day 2: Saturday, November 12th 10:00am-12:30pm* MST
General Students: $150 | Enrolled (AZAA) Students: $125
Acting has always been competitive but never like it is today. The new normal is online audition submissions. The actor is responsible for self-taping, submitting their auditions, finding their auditions, managing their career all from your computer and phone. Now you are competing globally for a single role being cast out of multiple cities. AZAA is happy to bring you regular workshops covering everything you need to get out there and work. We’re honored to welcome back Randy Messersmith to lead these workshops when he’s not on set or promoting his film. It’s AZAA, so of course, there will be a focus on acting for the camera fundamentals, the two most important tenets, listening and characterization. But these workshops will also feature a special section on self tapes, zoom callbacks, and self-submissions. *Class ends when the work is done and could go as late at 1:30pm.
Due to the specialized nature of the workshop, it is not available for audits or make-ups.
This class will be taught in person. Proof of Vaccination required to attend per the instructor.
Be prepared to upload a photo or scan of your card at registration.
NOTES: Students will be interacting in scenes in proximity that are closer than 6 feet. Masks may be worn in class but not during filming.
