We are so happy to announce our new BUILD YOUR REEL! program at Arizona Actors Academy led by Anthony Diblasi! It’s Catch 22. An actor needs an agent/manager to go up for a legit project but can’t get an agent without a reel. You can’t build a reel without booking gigs. You can’t even submit yourself without a reel. This is the solution! We know your talent, how hard you’ve trained and how good you are! We’re pleased to offer you an opportunity to build your reel with a seasoned Hollywood Director!! Anthony Diblasi has become a beloved and sought after guest artist and he is leading these intensives!
This program will be offered quarterly giving you the opportunity to fill a full reel. Make no mistake, we’re AZAA, this is also a class where your learning is as important as the product you leave with.
Anthony DiBlasi is a fresh, visionary, director/writer with over 15 years of expertise; nine feature films, four short films, and various commercial/agency work under his belt. He is award-winning in multiple categories; Best Director “Last Shift” (2015, thriller/horror), Best Director “Her Last Will” (2016, thriller/drama), Best Independent Feature “Dread” (2010, thriller/horror), Best Short Film “The Test” (2013, comedy/drama); and he’s just getting started!

Born and raised in Boston, Anthony DiBlasi graduated film school at Emerson College. Upon moving to Los Angeles he became a protégé of filmmaker/novelist Clive Barker. DiBlasi partnered in Barker’s production company Midnight Picture Show for nearly ten years, serving as a key executive & producer on films such as “Midnight Meat Train” (2008) and “Book of Blood” (2009). DiBlasi made his directorial debut with the psychological thriller “Dread” (2009), a feature film he wrote based on the Clive Barkershort story of the same name. “Dread” was released theatrically in January of 2010 and went on to win Best Independent Feature at the 2010 Spike Scream Awards.=
He directed and co-wrote “Last Shift” a critically acclaimed supernatural horror film released by Magnolia Pictures in 2015. And directed “Extremity” a psychological thriller based on Extreme Haunts, released in 2018 by Epic Pictures.
Anthony Diblasi’s latest feature film, “MALUM,” is a re-imaging of “Last Shift,” released by Welcome Villian Pictures as their debut film on March 31, 2023 in a limited theatrical release across the USA. Well reviewed and his second critically acclaimed supernatural horror film now on the books – Anthony DiBlasi’s “MALUM” released to streaming (and is now available to screen at home) on all channels as of May 16, 2023.
Anthony is married to his creative partner and collaborator, actress/writer Natalie Victoria – and spends his free time passing out sunglasses with Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Build Your Reel
Three weekend intensives led by Anthony DiBlasi!
Friday/Saturdays August 23rd – September 7th
Time: Fridays 6:30 pm – 9:30 or 10:00 pm/Saturday’s 10:00 am – 1:30 or 2:30 pm
Cost: $450 General Tuition ~ $225 Monthly Available

Spots are limited. LOCATION: OUR STUDIO 4820 E McDowell Rd ~ Suite #101
Week one you will develop and rehearse your material with Anthony to shoot for your reel. Actors will be provided a database of real sides to pick from but we highly recommend you write your own two page scene.
Week two deeper dive on scene analysis and rehearsal, being off book, making adjustments and sharpening your performance.
Week three Shooting the scenes. Your footage will be provided to you via dropbox or jump drive (provided by student).
